The Austro-Hungarian monarch Franz Joseph I and the German Emperor Wilhelm I held informal talks in this villa as early as 1870.

In 1881, Crown Prince Rudolf of Austria and his wife Princess Stephanie of Belgium spent part of their honeymoon in this imperial luxury inn.

In the 1990s, the magnificent property was extensively renovated and brought into its current, high-quality condition.
