Romantic knight's castle with medieval flair in the Wachau

It received its present impressive form with four three-storey buildings, double surrounding wall, trenches and two bridges around 1560.
With sophisticated construction art, love of architecture and under the supervision of the Federal Monuments Office, the castle was extensively restored in recent years and for the last time in 2010, and is currently in top condition. Historic fresco paintings from the Renaissance decorate the entrance gate and enable visitors to feel the glorious past.
